IdeaCamp is coming to Davao!

You've probably had one or two ideas that you wish you could implement. The idea could be anything from a business concept, a way to improve the educational system, a piece of software, a way to ease traffic in the city, or a process for simplifying the most mundane things in life. Whatever your idea you've probably thought about it for some time now. Maybe you've tested it at a small scale at one point. Maybe the test succeeded, or maybe it failed, but whatever the case, your enthusiasm for it continuous to grow with each passing day. It's an itch that you really have to scratch.

What you need is a group of individuals from different domains who can bring a fresh perspective to your idea. What you need is a group with a diverse enough background and skillset to collaborate with you and bring your idea to life. What you need is to meet and mingle with interested and interesting individuals. This is what IdeaCamp Davao is all about. It's open to everyone, so come and join us!

Who's invited?
Businessmen, designers, architects, lawyers, musicians, government workers, web developers, artists, etc. Like what we said, it's open to everyone. :-)

How does it work?
Presenters will be given a maximum of 10 minutes to describe their thoughts and ideas to the audience. After this, another 10 minutes will be allocated for the audience to comment on the idea. Further discussion beyond this time limit can be held in "corridor talks" outside of the main venue.

When and where will this be held?
May 30, 2009 (Saturday) starting at 2PM (add the event to your facebook profile). Venue will at Kublai Cafe located in Ponce Suites (map).

Will there be an LCD projector?
Yes. We'll take care of the LCD projector, whitescreen, FREE WiFi, and sound system. Just bring your laptop and slides. Of course, slides are optional.

What do I need to join?

There's no registration fee and no dress code. You don't have to be an IT guy (you don't even have to know computers!). Just come with an open mind and a willingness to contribute either by:
  • giving a presentation, or
  • helping out someone who's giving a presentation, or
  • actively participating during the Q&A
What topics will be covered?
Ideally, the topics to be covered should be decided on the day itself by the participants themselves. However, being the first IdeaCamp, we thought it was appropriate to bootstrap it first. Here's the list of topics during the event.

Who is organizing this event?
Meet the team here.

Have you heard about www.theideacamp.com or www.theideacamp.ning.com ?

Hi Charles,

yes we have. Nice vibrant site and event. Very similar to ours although we don't have a purely religious bent.
